1.Walk before you run. Set short-term goals to achieve long-term goals. After setting long-term goals go back and break them up into smaller goals that are easier to achieve. Reward yourself each time you achieve your goal.
2.Have fun while you workout. We offer support and encouragement when you are working out. Buy a Mp3 player and exercise to your favourite music on your own also. Workouts are so much easier when you are having fun.
3.Establish a time and place to work out. Force yourself to be consistent with your workouts for the first couple of weeks. This will help you feel you are accomplishing your goals, it will set a pattern for future workouts, and it will help you to make exercise a part of your lifestyle.
4.Journal your progression. If you are truly dedicated to getting the most out of your exercise routine keep an accurate record of your weight training sessions. You should aim for “progressive resistance”. By gradually increasing either the weight lifted, the number of repetitions, or the number of sets. Your body will perform a little better each time you train. The benefits of keeping a journal are: organised routines, knowing how and when to challenge your body, reduce chance of injury by over-lifting, and a sense of accomplishment from actually seeing your progress on paper.
